Black Diamond hosted 1883, Citizen Femme, Lonely Planet and Mail On Sunday on a digital media fam trip to Japan on behalf of Setouchi Tourism Authority. The trip opened up a gateway to exploring the lesser-known areas of Japan. The media visited four main prefectures in the Setouchi region including; Okayama, Tokushima, Ehime and Hiroshima. During the trip, the media took part in a number of exciting cultural experiences starting with a sushi-making master class and learning about Bizen pottery production in Okayama Prefecture. They then went on to discover the hidden gems of the Kasaoka Islands being educated on island life. In Tokushima Prefecture the media embarked on part of the Shikoku Pilgrimage before visiting Udatsu old street in Mima City to enjoy having their hand at the prefectures well-known traditional craft of indigo dyeing. The trip ended on an active high cycling part of the renowned Shimanami Kaido from Ehime Prefecture to Hiroshima Prefecture learning about famous architect Toyo Ito and wine making on Onomichi Island along the way.
