Travel Trade Account Manager (Senior Account Manager)

An exciting position has become available for a Travel Trade Account Manager to join the Black Diamond Trade Team, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to excel within a fast paced environment in a dynamic, hands-on central London based agency.

The position will involve representing a variety of established and emerging destinations, both in the United States and around the world. Key responsibilities include leading client management and industry liaison in the UK & Ireland and encouraging product development while building relationships with key suppliers and partners. Other important elements of the role will require leading and developing Cooperative Marketing opportunities to grow each client’s presence within the market place, event management, attending exhibitions & training and planning and managing familiarisation trips.

This varied and evolving role is best suited to someone with existing destination management experience and offers wide-ranging benefits and career progression opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Manage and develop client accounts
  • Initiate innovative and creative marketing programs & sales incentives on behalf of clients
  • Plan and manage individual client budgets
  • Co-ordinate and host educational trips
  • Initiate, develop and conduct a full trade training programme
  • Develop and co-ordinate industry outreach (newsletters, assisting with agent enquiries etc.)
  • Assist with event organisation and attend exhibitions and shows on behalf of clients
  • Provide support to the Account Director and wider travel team
  • Work closely with the PR representative for clients (where applicable)
Skills Required:
  • Travel industry experience, ideally in sales and/or marketing/product
  • Understand, and be confident in, the management of the complexities of running multiple accounts concurrently
  • Knowledge of the UK & Irish travel industries & key tour operators to the USA
  • First-hand knowledge of the USA, Asia or South Pacific would be beneficial
  • Be prepared to travel, domestically and overseas
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to travel unencumbered to the USA and other popular destinations around the world
  • Documents proving you are eligible to work in the UK
  • Full, clean driving licence
